Britain - best placed to come out of the recession!
Recession! What recession?
Thank goodness that boom and bust were abolished! Wasn’t it great to hear that we, in Britain, were best placed to come out of the recession (that should not have happened)?! But what do I hear now, Gordon? How is it that we are still bogged down in the mire whilst everyone else is on the road to economic recovery.
In most of its major economies, Europe is out of recession. Yesterday, America announced that it had begun to grow again. What happened to us, Mr. Brown?
The Prime Minister continually fails to answer even the most simple questions at Prime Minister’s Questions in the House of Commons. Instead he prefers to throw out a litany of irrelevant statistics. However, the most frustrating words that fire from Gordon Brown’s lips are the frequent statement ‘It is right…’
‘No’, Prime Minister. The fact that you think something is right, does not make it right. Furthermore, the statement that the Conservative and Liberal Democrat policies are not right in your mind, does not make them wrong. All you are saying is that you would not have made those choices. But then David Cameron and Nick Clegg have not been permitted to try their policies because they have not been elected as Prime Minister (whoops, neither were you).
So, let us look back at what you have said and see how the results measure up. What should be in your House of Commons school report?
Is it, ‘Could do better if he tried’?
No, sorry.
I think it should be ‘Couldn’t do much worse’.
